Beth Brunswick Memorial Fund for Children - Board of Directors
Ellen Oppenheim Chair
Ellen is a resident of Rangeley and has served in various leadership board positions over the past decades, including New Canaan Country School, Horizons Student Enrichment Program, the Omprakash Foundation, the Aristotle Fund, and the New Canaan Winter Club, to name a few. Currently Ellen is on the Executive Committee for the Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust and is a Trustee for the Maine chapter of The Nature Conservancy. Ellen previously worked in marketing and advertising before pivoting to work as an EMT in Connecticut prior to moving to Maine.
George Bernstein Vice Chair
A Rangeley resident, George is the former CEO of Nobel Learning Communities, a national leader in providing Child Care, preschool and K-12 education with over 225 schools nationwide. George brings Child Care and K-12 school operating expertise, educational training resources and strong industry relationships. He is currently a board member of several international Child Care and K-12 school organizations.
Leeanna Wilbur Secretary and Treasurer
A lifetime Rangeley resident, Leeanna retired in 2022 after 41 years in management at Franklin Savings Bank. She has worked for almost 30 years in grass-root community projects that have brought necessary services to Rangeley. Leeanna was previously Board Chair at Rangeley Health and Wellness. She has also served on the board of Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust. Leeanna is an active member of the Rangeley Rotary Club.
Zach Lehman Director
Zach is Founder and President of DovetailED Talent Sourcing, a recruiting and search firm for the private school industry. A former attorney and Academy-Award winning filmmaker, he has led independent schools and not-for-profit organizations for 25+ years prior to establishing DovetailED. Most recently, Zack served for over a decade as head of school at the Hill School, a highly regarded boarding school in Pennsylvania. Zack lives in New Hampshire and summers in Oquossoc, Maine.
Julie Steinberg Director
Julie is a Luxury Travel Advisor for Accent on Travel and has been planning luxury vacations since 1981. She sat on the Rail Europe Board and
The Swiss Advisory Board for 10 years. Most importantly, Julie is Beth Brunswick’s sister and dedicated to fulfilling Beth’s dream to provide programming and services for the children of Rangeley. Julie is a resident of Cherry Hill, New Jersey and vacations in Oquossoc, Maine.
Michelle Laliberte Director
Michelle was a teacher at Rangeley Lakes Regional School, where she dedicated 21 years to teaching. Her commitment to early childhood education helped her achieve the title of Franklin County Teacher of the Year in 2021. Michelle holds a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education. Michelle has advocated for educational initiatives throughout her 23 years in the community. She played a pivotal role in establishing Healthy Beginnings, the inaugural daycare center at Rangeley Health Center (which is no longer in existence and sincerely missed by the community) and she spearheaded the launch of the Public Pre-K program at Rangeley Lakes Regional School. Currently, Michelle actively contributes to her community as a member of the Rangeley Rotary, The Beth Brunswick Memorial for Children and serves on the Parks and Recreation board for the town of Rangeley.
Beth Eastlack Director
Beth, a lifetime resident of Rangeley, decided to move back home after college to raise her family in her hometown. She has owned and operated Morton & Furbish Real Estate & Vacation Rentals with her husband for over 25 years. Beth is very active in the community with local events, and makes sure that after people visit Rangeley once, they want to come back again and again. She is also a member of the Rangeley Rotary Club and donates her time to their major fundraising events that give back to all ages in her community.
Brittany Russell Director
Brittany has been a resident of Rangeley for 10 years. She was a teacher at Rangeley Lakes Regional School, where she dedicated 6 years of teaching 3rd grade and 1 year of PreK-8 school counseling. She also coached the girls’ basketball program for 7 years. She currently works at Morton & Furbish Vacation Rentals in the Marketing Department and volunteers her time with the local community events that the business sponsors.
Doris Santoro
Doris Santoro is a resident of Rangeley and a parent of a Rangeley Lakes Regional School student. She runs Grasshopper Hill Farm and The Farmer's Daughter in Oquossoc with her family. She earned her doctorate in Philosophy and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Doris has 30 years of experience in education as a high school and GED teacher, elementary literacy consultant, professor, and teacher educator. Doris was a professor at Bowdoin College for 20 years. She is an internationally-recognized expert on the conditions that support educator success and wellbeing. Doris was awarded an honorary doctorate from University of Maine at Farmington in 2023 and gave the Bowdoin Karofsky Encore Lecture to recognize teaching excellence in 2024.
